Full Time Contract

Our local authority client is looking for an experienced Social Worker to commence as soon as possible.  You will be based in offices in Theale.  The purpose of this role is to work as a professionally qualified Social Worker within Children’s and Family Services.

Package

  • £22 - £32 per hour depending on experience and whether PAYE/LTD
  • Weekly pay
  • Holiday pay on top of hourly rate

  • Mileage paid for travel within role
  • Initially 3 month booking but could be extended / lead to permanent work
  • Immediate start for the right candidate

 Responsibilities

  • Providing effective and efficient service to children, young people and their families
  • Providing professional and comprehensive casework , ensuring the highest of professional standards and good overall knowledge of relevant legislation regulation and practice methods
  • To proactively liaise with and work in partnership other agencies and organisations, parents and carers. To promote the involvement of young service users and families in service development
  • Attending court, reviews and conferences when required in line with caseload
  • Being an advocate for the organisation and ensuring all cases are handled in the correct manner
  • Following all company guidelines in terms of safeguarding, equality and diversity as well as in house procedures
  • To implement agreed care plans and to provide ongoing, direct Social Work Practitioner input as required. To reassess, review and evaluate and monitor care as required
  • To take responsibility under Section 114 of the Mental Health Act when holding Approved Social Worker status: operating as an independent practitioner to provide least restrictive intervention options and having regard to the rights of the clients under the Legislation.

Requirements

  • Will have ability to demonstrate problem solving and option and resource investigation
  • Care-assessment planning skills
  • Be able to demonstrate an understanding of targets and standards
  • Children protection and court experience
  • Have a Social Worker professional qualification
  • ASW qualification with evidence of recent practice
  • Ability to travel around the County
  • Driving license
