Full Time

Our local authority client is looking for an experienced Senior Administrator to commence a temporary assignment with them as soon as possible. You will be based in offices in Penzance. You will be assisting with the administrative management of the office and providing support to the Town Clerk and other individuals. This role is initially till end of September but there will be a permanent role available at the end of the assignment which you would be considered for if both parties are happy.

Key Tasks

  • Provide professional support to various departments to aid in the smooth running of the office.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information acquired in the course of undertaking duties for the service.
  • Attending meetings and producing minutes of these
  • Preparing reports and agendas for meetings and associated admin tasks relating to the outcome of these meetings
  • Assisting the finance officer with day-to-day accounting tasks
  • Assisting with the organisation and planning of various events
  • Administrative tasks relating to HR matters.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • NVQ Level 2 in Admin or relevant subject
  • Proven experience providing administrative / secretarial / office management at a senior level.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise work effectively.
  • Experience of committees and minute and report writing.
  • Willingness to work out of office hours in order to attend meetings.
  • Understanding / previous experience within local government role/s would be desirable.
  • Experience of GDPR, financial / accounts experience, and knowledge of HR related legislation would be advantageous.
  • Confident using Excel and other packages.
