Job description

Our local authority client is looking for an experienced Personal Assistant / Secretary to join their team. You will be providing a quality and professional secretarial support to senior management.

  • An hourly rate of £10.48ph
  • An immediate start available
  • Initially temporary assignment for 6-8 weeks but could lead to longer assignments / opportunities

Key Tasks

  • Providing complete administrative and secretarial support
  • Arranging travel and meeting commitments
  • Supporting the department in all aspects including recruitment, motivation and development of the team.
  • Arrange meetings/telephone conferences and maintain diaries.
  • Liaise with internal clients.
  • Provide general information and respond to general enquiries on behalf of teams when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate electronic files and updating of records.
  • Administer, attend and minute meetings including the transcription of sensitive confidential audio data.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Recent typing and audio/digital typing experience
  • Proven experience of providing professional support within a similar capacity / secretarial support to at a senior level.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise work effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Confidentiality and ability to deal with contentious issues in appropriate manner.
  • Understanding / previous experience working within local government environment would be advantageous.
