Job description
Our local authority client is looking for a Finance Assistant to join the Adult Social Care Finance Team in their Newbury offices on a temporary basis, reporting to the Payments Officer.

- Mon-Fri, 9am – 5pm, 37 hour working week

Key Tasks
- Scanning, registering, and processing invoices onto the Agresso system for payment
- Checking invoices for accuracy
- Reconciliation and transfer of files between systems, and running relevant validation reports Create and maintain supplier accounts
- Assist with the management of debts for service users, when required
- Dealing with any queries and liaising with suppliers and clients, as appropriate.
- Provide general administrative support to the team as required
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- 5 GCSEs including Maths and English
- Knowledge of computer systems i.e. Agresso
- Experience of handling large volumes of data entry
- Proficient numeracy skills
- 3 years’ experience of working within a financial environment
- Understanding of client confidentiality and deal with clients in a professional and caring manner
- Be a team worker, flexible and helpful
- Good telephone manner and able to communicate effectively with suppliers
- Self-motivated, able to work on own initiative and enjoy being busy
- Good organisational skills
