Full Time

Our client within the public sector has immediate openings for Call Centre / Customer service candidates, working from home or the office in Truro within a Control Centre Operator capacity.

The role is handling calls at the 24/7 centre, monitoring lifelines and care and providing out of hours service including repairs and emergencies. This role is working on a rotating shift pattern (detailed below).

Package:

  • £10.02 per hour
  • Holiday pay paid on top
  • Weekly pay
  • 37 hours a week contract, maybe chance of overtime / extra shifts if wanted.

  • Able to work from home, IT equipment provided or from the office as a key worker role.
  • May lead to longer term work opportunities.
  • Initially three-month contract

Responsibilities:

  • Responding to calls and emergency life threatening calls
  • Offering appropriate advice, help and support in line with company guidelines and after relevant training.
  • Answering, logging and responding in line with department targets
  • Assessing urgency of calls and taking action
  • Taking calls in a polite, compassionate and helpful way
  • Working under pressure
  • Working on a rota basis to cover the 24/7 operation.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in busy call centre / contact centre or customer service role.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable people or within services supporting the elderly / vulnerable.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to listen effectively and able to assess the nature of the call.
  • Able to display compassion and empathy and able to remain calm at all times.
  • Computer literate
  • Willingness to work unsocial hours as part of the role.
  • Happy to undergo a disclosure check.

Shifts are early 6.45am to 3pm, Late: 3pm to 11pm, Nights: 10.45pm to 7am and days 10am to 6pm these normally work on a 5 shifts on 5 days off (5 days on late shift, 5 days off then 5 days on night shift and 5 days off for example) additional ad hoc shifts will be available as required.
