Job description

Our local authority client is looking for an IT Interim Applications Support Officer to help them in their Newbury offices on a temporary basis, reporting to the Systems Integration Officer.


- An hourly rate of £47.29-£54.05 depending on experience plus holiday pay

- Immediate start

- Initially a 3-month assignment but likely to extend

- Mon-Fri, 9am – 5pm, 37 hour working week

- Friendly working environment

- Possibility for remote working

- Car parking on site

Key Tasks

- To provide backfill support to the DBA team

- Deliver work packages where the skills relating to SQL server, TSQL and SSIS are required

- Will provide support and technical expertise for the DBA team in areas where skills are currently in short supply

- Will be a technical subject matter expert for technologies such as SSIS and BI

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

- To provide backfill support in DBA\Application Support Team

- Deliver work packages and support for several major council systems

- At least 3 years’ experience of working in a Local Government IT department supporting the following systems or business areas:

· Unit 4 Agresso

· Zellis Resourcelink

· Careworks Caredirector

· Capita One

· Civica APP

· Northgate SX3

· Finance

· Social Care

· HR & Payroll

- At least 5 years’ experience of SQL role:

· MS SQL Server Stack

· T-SQL Scripting

· Experience of SQL development and implementation/configuration etc.

· Experience with ETL/SSIS
