My client is looking to recruit an experienced Development Ops Engineer reporting to the Systems Architect/Board of Directors. 

You will be able to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools, able to code and script and have experience with systems and IT operations.  However, your primary task will be working with other members of the DevOps team to develop the CLOUD hosted solution.

Key Tasks

  • Contribute simultaneously to different projects
  • Efficient time management and task prioritising
  • Implement and extend code
  • Proficient at one language and capable of writing quality code in different languages
  • Writes production quality robust code, understanding interaction, races and emergence
  • Comfortable with parallelisation and asynchronous flow
  • Aware of and controls memory usage when writing code, thinking of solution as a whole
  • Identifies and solves logical problems
  • Understands data structures and can design them for general use
  • Understands and employs Unit testing when necessary
  • Comfortable with compilers and linkers
  • Understands document structures for solutions


Ideal candidate

  • Possess relevant qualifications in computer science
  • Cloud general – OpenShift/Kubernetes, OpenStack/KVM, Ansible, Consul
  • Security – Vault, Nessus, ClamAV
  • Linux – RHEL, CentOS
  • Cloud Visibility – Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Prometheus, Graphana
  • CI Pipeline – Jenkins, Blue Ocean, Spcewalk, SonarQube, GITlab, NuGeT
  • Accomplished coder
  • Proven professional experience on OpenStack architecture and administration
  • Knowledge of open-source middleware applications – Redis, MySQL, PosgreSQL, SOLR
  • Production working experience with front end web services including Apache and NGINX
  • A team player with good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience of dealing with clinical safety would be highly advantageous.
